  • Social Mission

Alchemist Creations works with the motto “Turn Neglect Into Shine”. We believe in discovering the beauty of the mundane and turn them into elegant goods. Alchemist evokes the revolution of “Combining Handcraft Production With Social Innovation”. We utilize social resources and we created innovative sustainable product designs.

All procedures, especially handcraft productions, are handled by the underprivileged. They are often neglected by the society. They lack self-confidence and others’ respect. Alchemist is willing to cooperate with them and offer them job opportunities. Through this cooperation, they are re-inserted into the society.

  • Business Model

Alchemist Creations focuses on innovative product design and production, they include:
– The CAN WATCH series which makes from unused soda cans and processed by skilful craftsmen
– Daily accessories made from soda cans and leftover leathers
– Home decorations ranging from wall displays to tabletop sculptures
– Large-scale art installation fit for public and shopping mall display

Alchemist Creations also offers:
– Skill training for persons with disabilities
– Specializedtoolsett to ensure the PWDs work in a safe environment

  • Founding Team

Kat Ling – After graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in industrial and product design , Kat has had experience in design and product development in both large and small corporations. Prior to founding her own studio, Kat was active serving as a cross-over project consultant with social mission for famous brands, such as Broadway Circuit.

In 2012, Kat founded Alchemist Creations Co. Ltd. with two of her fellow Poly U graduate, Kenneth Ho and Samuel Siu. Since then, they have been dedicated to placing importance on the design system. They design and arrange an appropriate manufacturing process with members and tutors from workshops. Through the products, they hope customers would appreciate members’ sophisticated workmanship.
Under her direction, Alchemist Creations has been granted a “RED DOT Design Award 2013: best of the best”, being the first Asian brand got best of the best award under the watch and jewellery category in that award.

  • Social Impact

– Cooperated with three sheltered workshops and engaged 25 PWDs to set up new production lines
– Employed four PWDs or underprivileged youth as product designers/storekeepers
– Produced 8 new designs of watch
– Participated in local and overseas trade shows and collaborated with well-known brands to promote the products
